There are no skeletons in space. (I just love the way skulls look in a space suit.)
As of 2019 there have only been 3 deaths in space, and in 1971 3 Cosmonauts died while returning to Earth from the Salyut 1 Space Station, an investigation showed that a breathing ventilation valve had ruptured, and that the resulting drop in pressure exposed the crew to the vacuum of space — the only human beings to ever experience such a fate.
They died within seconds of the rupture, which occurred at 168 kilometers (104 miles), making them the only human beings to die in space.
Despite the extremely cold temperatures; heat does not leave the body quickly enough for you to freeze before you suffocate, due to the lack of both convection and conduction.
If you perish in space, your body will NOT decompose in the normal way.
So if you were near a source of heat, your body would mummify, and if you were not, it would freeze. (If your body was sealed in a space suit, it would start to decompose, but only as long as the oxygen lasted.)
Whichever the condition, your body would last for a very, very long time without air to facilitate weathering and degradation. You could technically drift in the vast expanse of space for millions of years
“Space is big. You just won't believe how vastly, hugely, mind-bogglingly big it is.”
